Review this checklist before discussing final safety steps with the contractor performing the work.
During application and curing of polyurethane components, off-gassing can occur. Occupants, children, and pets should follow the contractor's product-specific re-entry instructions, ventilation plan, and safety data sheets.
Spray foam crews often pull heavy high-pressure heated hoses from box rigs or trailers. Clear entryways, hallways, attic hatch drop-downs, crawlspace access, and garage boundaries of valuables. Ask the contractor how much lane width their rig and hoses require.
Many mobile spray rigs use self-contained generators to power heat lines and proportioners, but site requirements vary. Confirm power, water, lighting, parking, and access needs with the contractor before spray day.
Central furnace units, ventilation fans, fresh air intakes, gas water heater pilot lamps, and wood stoves may need to be shut off during spraying so overspray particulates are not pulled into remote duct lines.
If your project has loose blown-in insulation, active roof leaks, exposed rafters, low access, or unusual ventilation, get contractor review before choosing a system.
